The Museum of Florida Art - DeLand

This year, Chrome & Leather V exhibit in the will present an array of extraordinary custom bikes showcasing the creativity of some of the country’s top bike builders and the airbrush artistry of Volusia County’s own Chris Cruz.

Also in the Lower Gallery, the photographic works of Bob Alexander, Tommy Clauson, Kenneth Miller, Joylia Vitaliy, Sooz White, Scharf, Jesse Williams of Born to Ride Magazine, and other artists presenting an assortment of motorcycle lifestyle portraits taken over the years.

The Chrome and Leather Bash

The Chrome and Leather Bash will take place at the museum on Friday Februyary 29, 2008
from 7:00PM until 11:00 PM. Put on your leather and jeans for an evening of rock n roll
by Running With Scissors, custom bikes, silent and live auction, biker fashions plus a
cash bar and festive food.

The Chrome & Leather V exhibit exhibit will be on display February 22nd thru Marc 16th. Museum hours are Tuesday - Saturday 10-4 and Sunday 1-4.

 

 

 

Now in It's 5th Year.....

The Art of Chrome and Leather V is the fifth year of the exhibit which become a Bikeweek community tradition as the motorcycle continues source of intrigue in American Culture and a subject for artists of all kinds.

Each year the museum features outstanding motorcycle designs and concepts and photographs by featured artists who have used the motorcycle as the primary focus of their creative expression.

Last years exhibit featured local racing legend Billy (Ace) Meyers with pictures from his remarkable 1950s and 60s racing career on dirt and pavement.

One of Meyer’s vintage BSA bikes was also on display. Compliment the Meyer’s retrospective, Suzzane Heddy, Director of the Halifax Historical Museum loaned their images of motorcycle racing on the sands of Daytona Beach from the 1920s to the 1950s
